Next Sunday, February 28th is the night of the 88th Academy Awards (5PM Mountain Time on ABC). For most of us, it's a fun evening of watching our favorite stars walk the red carpet in glamorous gowns and stylish tuxedos. There is always a big to-do around who's hosting - this year it's Chris Rock - and how they fare compared to their predecessors. But if not for the actual films being honored, none of this would occur. Below is a list of this year's nominees for Best Picture and where you might still see them before the awards.
Bridge of Spies is playing at The Picture Show at Citadel Crossing at 8:30 each night. Tickets are only $1.75, or go on Tuesday and pay only $1.00. Mark Rylance is up for Actor in a Supporting Role. As a bonus, Joy is also playing and Jennifer Lawrence is up for Actress in a Leading Role.
Brooklyn is playing at Kimball's Peak Three at 2:30 and 5:00. You can grab a glass of wine at their bar to enjoy during the movie. Tickets are $7:50 because both showings are before 6PM. Saoirse Ronan is up for Actress in a Leading Role.
The Revenant is playing at Tinseltown and Cinemark Carefree Circle several times each day. On Tuesdays you can get a ticket for only $5.75 all day. Leonardo DiCaprio is up for Actor in a Leading Role and Tom Hardy is up for Actor in a Supporting Role.
The Big Short is playing at Regal Interquest Stadium 14 at 7:25 and 10:30 each night. Christian Bale is up for Actor in a Supporting Role.
There's still time to see the films before that golden statue is awarded. Enjoy!
