365 Things to Do in Colorado Springs ~ Day 48 Visit a Rock Climbing Gym

With a mission statement that says, "To strengthen individuals and communities through unique, fun fitness and adventure." it seems as though City Rock, located in downtown Colorado Springs has hit the pulse of a city loving outdoor recreation ~ in this case a sport that really requires some training, education & practice.

CityRock Climbing Gym

CityRock, voted "best of " in 2010, started with a building that had a lot of history in Colorado Springs as a theatre and kept part of that history alive through the painted walls inside.  Here you will find King Kong, Monsters and a B-52 airplane all painted by local artists. CityRock is also home to the highest indoor climbing walls in Colorado at 43'.

CityRock is open 11am -10pm except on Saturdays when they open an hour earlier at 10:00 am.  There is a place for everyone and their comfort / skill level to try out rock climbing.  You can also join a group for an outdoor guided trip with one of CityRock's certified guides.  For directions, specific questions and more information check their website.
