With all the changes in the real estate industry, online information and data available to buyers and sellers the definition of Real Estate Professional has also changed. It continues to stand for Ethics, Knowledge, Standards and Real Estate Industry Expertise; but in toady's world to be a Professional in the industry requires so much more.
Having a lot of online information readily available also requires the need to do something with it. The ability to dissect, discern and evaluate complex scenarios with an often emotionally charged issue is paramount. How do we interpret data that may be available? How do we hold a transaction together with emotions that are escalating or out of control on one side or the other? For whatever reason, we as humans tend to make up what we don't know or cannot at the moment control.
Realtors bring wisdom, market share, relationships (this can be a key factor in a transaction trying to go South quickly), negotiation skills, multiple viewpoints and quite often what is most important, an unconditional ear to listen and hear our clients. Sounds simple but the reality is so much more and all real estate professionals know this and their clients experience it.
It is a busy year for all involved in the real estate and business. Whether you are a client or a fellow real estate professional my wish is a year of happy clients, balance in life and increased wisdom both learned and shared.
