Colorado Springs Real Estate Facts & Fun

Royal Gorge Route Railroad

One of the most popular trains in Colorado is the Royal Gorge Route Railroad located in Canon City, Colorado. The train has been family owned and operated since 1999 and stands apart from other routes because of its focus on first class food and service. Whether looking for a family friendly experience, fine dining cuisine, or to try out the Murder Mystery evening, there is something for everyone.

Santa Express: Guest can choose from eight different train experiences, including the Santa Express  in November and December for a magical Christmas season.

Cab Rides: The newest addition to the train experience is the Cab Ride where two passengers ride in conductors cab for a one of a kind view of the Gorge.

Family Friendly: The most family friendly options are Coach Class and the Vista Dome. However don't let the title "coach class" fool you, the fully cushioned high back seats and available cafe/bar is the perfect combination of casual and comfortable for all ages. As for the Vista Dome ride, its named after the dome shaped windows giving passengers a breathtaking view of the canyon.

Club Class: Offering full service with comfortable table seating yet still casual, Club Class is perfect for those wanting to unwind.

First Class Lunch: For those who want something a little more upscale, a First-Class Lunch is available for purchase on either the classic dining car or observatory room every Saturday and Sunday until September 6th.

Dinner Train: For dinner, the designated Dinner Train takes passengers on a two and a half hour round trip for a scenic gourmet dinning experience your sure to remember.

Murder Mystery Train: Last but certainly not least is the Murder Mystery Train, where guest will enjoy quality food, fun company, stunning views, and a "who done it" mystery.
